Victoria Roberts BVSc MRCVS
I was born and brought up in the Suffolk countryside and still enjoy the outdoors, gardening and springer spaniels. I have had over 40 years of breeding and judging exhibition poultry, waterfowl and pheasants. I am Honourary Veterinary Surgeon to The Poultry Club, edit the British Poultry Standards and have been on their Council for the past seventeen years and Secretary to the Dorking Breed Club for eighteen years. I have written three books on poultry, including one on diseases which has proven helpful to other vets as well as poultry breeders and a monthly column in Country Smallholding magazine since 2000 which covers poultry and other smallholding animals. I teach bird anatomy, physiology and clinical aspects of backyard poultry plus small furries (rabbits, rats, ferrets etc.) at Liverpool Vet School and have done so since 1998. I am involved with various veterinary associations and will be President of the British Veterinary Zoological Society in 2010 for two years and am a small animal locum in my spare time!
